    EMPOWERING NEW PROGRAMS

    FOR SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN

    MISSION STATEMENT :
Chukkers for Children (CFC), under the auspices of the Leonard C. Maudens Foundation, is dedicated to empowering youth with special needs and those at risk, promoting confidence and resilience through equine-assisted activities with retired polo ponies at Eagle Flight Farm in Solvang. Under the expert guidance of horse trainer Tracy Ward, we strive to provide a safe and supportive environment where every child can flourish and unlock their full potential.

    WHO WE ARE :
Chukkers for Children (CFC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of at-risk neurodivergent - on spectrum young people. With the generous support of the Leonard C. Maudens Foundation, CFC offers unique equine-assisted therapy programs at Eagle Flight Farm in Solvang, where children spend meaningful time learning skills alongside former polo ponies under the special guidance of horse trainer Tracy Ward.
These experiences go beyond riding — they teach patience, responsibility, communication, and self-confidence. The bond between child and horse creates a therapeutic environment that nurtures emotional growth and resilience. By combining mentorship, skill-building, and the healing power of animals, CFC helps children discover joy, connection, and their own limitless potential.
We believe every child deserves a chance to shine.

Our therapeutic riding programs are designed to promote physical, emotional, and social development in children. Through guided sessions, children engage with horses to build confidence and improve coordination.

Our therapy sessions are tailored to meet the unique needs of each child, addressing various challenges such as anxiety, autism, and behavioral issues.
